Assuming we don’t get talked out of these by horror stories of mold and Rot, does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy from, or alternative suggestions that might convince me to leave the wooden dream alone

Ive got iroko full stave (it is more expensive than the worktops made of wood chunks) but is much more beautiful in colour and wont split anywhere. Also agree using osmo oil. This is the second time ive used it and would do so again - love the look and colour of it. You could put granite or something else by the sink but i dont mind a bit of wear there and it can be cleaned, sanded and oiled again perhaps a bit more regularly just in this area.
