Wonky windows

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice if possible... a few weeks ago we moved into a lovely new build. We've been doing our snagging list and one of the things I mentioned to the site manager was that the two windows (one ground floor, one first floor) on the front of the house aren't in line with each other. The first floor window is about a foot too far to the left. It just looks really odd...I realise I might sound petty but once you notice it, you can't not see it (iyswim).
The site manager was pretty dismissive and said he hadn't noticed and it was too late to change something like that now (which obviously I understand!).
But the plans show the windows all nicely symmetrical... should I just drop it or do you think we should insist on an explanation and maybe some compensation...?
Also worth mentioning that there wasn't a show home to compare it to...

Have you got a photo of it?

If it is different to the plans and you bought the house from viewing the plans only (the house wasn't built and the window in place at the time) you can complain. I would. You can argue that they have mis-sold you. Also, I'd be concerned about the planning permission. If any of your neighbours complain that the window isn't as the plans suggested, you can be made to take it out and replace.
This happened with my parents. Their builder put their window about 50cm further to the left. The neighbours complained and my parents had to get it sorted or their extension would have been pulled down.
I don't know where you stand in regards to personally being liable for this- I would imagine it would be the building company but I'd get it checked.
Can you not raise the issue with your conveyancer and ask them for their opinion and where you stand legally?

Ohh that would really irritate me too.

Firstly are you sure they can't be moved. If it's a small move and the lintels are big enough then perhaps it's still possible 🤷🏻‍♀️

It seems odd they aren't following the plans correctly. It would make me worry about the quality of their work.

I'd follow it up with whoever is in charge.

Thank you for the responses and advice. I was nervous about posting this as I didn't know if I was being a bit precious... the site manager said he'd check the plans but I know he wasn't taking me seriously and wouldn't come back to me proactively. I feel more comfortable approaching him about it again now. If I still don't get anywhere, I'll ring our conveyancer. Thanks again

This would drive me mad. If it's one way on the plans and another way in real life, they either need to sort it or to compensate you.
