Electric shower question

We have an electric shower in our bathroom which has broken. It’s not terribly powerful so ideally I’d like to replace it with a much better one. I believe to have a higher kw shower we would need a bigger cable, would this be worth it? Alternatively we could have a pump fitted. However our bathroom is only 3 years old and I don’t really want to have work done which will necessitate taking tiles off walls or the flooring up. Is there anything we can do for minimal disruption to improve our shower? Thanks

you will get a better shower with a shower pump, or a self-pumped shower mixer, connected to the hot and cold pipes (yopu must use cold from the tank, not the mains).

You may need to alter the pipe layout to avoid sucking air into the cylinder.

A copper-coloured cylinder is very old and will benefit from two red insulating jackets. Lag all the hot pipes too.

measure the pipes, they are usually 22mm and 15mm, but an old system may also have some 28mm diameter
