Replacing underfloor heated travertine tiles

Hi all, just a quick query - I am looking at a house I'd quite like to buy, but it has underfloor heating under some very shiny marble(y) tiles. How would you go about replacing them - is it hard? I'd rather have wooden floors, but not sure if you can lay wood over the top of the tiles. Surely you wouldn't feel the heat through 2 layers? What would you advise?
Thanks in advance

We used wood effect Amtico over our underfloor heating and it works wonderfully!

Tiles up, and then new floor down!

it depends what type of underfloor heating they have, wet or electric?
wet should be lower so you have give and take taking the tiles up.
If electric, unless you are very very carful and have a pic of the cable layout i wouldnt bother. Lay over the tile with an underlay 1st.
If you nip the cable to bare wire you can damage and the whole curcit wont work

circuit - phones...!!

I don't know which kind of underfloor heating it is unfortunately, and it doesn't say in the house details. I'm just not sure if laying wood over the tiles will stop the heat getting through... I think the whole house has it so wouldn't want to damage the circuit!

all tiles will allow heat through even with wood on.
May take a little longer to heat the floor but due to the wood and tile it will take a lot longer to leave the room.
Im sure you will be able to find out from the seller what system they have before you offer anything.
Once you know speak to people who supply the systems, but should be fine
