Quote for bathroom

Hi All, just wanted some advice if that's OK

I have recently moved into a new house and the bathroom was grim... literally grim. It needs EVERYTHING doing - ceiling skimmed, new set, new power shower, towel rail, vanity unit, tiles - EVERYTHING!

I've had a quote from Wickes who were brilliant - have planned it to the last detail, and it includes all fixtures and fittings and installation. The only thing it doesn't include is the floor. Now, remember, this is a TEENY TINY bathroom - no room for a separate shower cubicle so it's over-the-bath. On the plus side, I should be able to get flooring for about a tenner....!

Anyway, the quote has come in at just under £5k - I just wanted to guage your opinions on how you think this measures up , and to hear any experiences of Wickes? Thanks

We’re looking at doing our ensuite (tiny) and main bathroom (still not big enough for separate shower so, like you, shower over the bath). Not had quotes yet as still in the ‘just looking’ phase, but DH’s friend from work said they had the same done and it was £15K.... Shock
Not sure how much that helps! Following with interest...

I have just had three quotes for my teeny tiny bathroom - similar to your needs except tiled floor included.

The cheapest quote was £7k, then £7.5k then £8k.
I expected it to be about £5k so was very surprised.

Thanks for your messages - it's made me realise that I think the deal I'm getting is fairly standard. Right, off to accept the quote!!!

Unless anyone has any horror stories of Wickes.....?!

Oooh meant to say that Wickes have also offered me 4 years interest free credit RosieBdy - I figure that it's better sat in my bank account than theirs....?

Thanks MiaowTheCat - I think that's just made me decide to get another quote from a local plumber!

We're doing ours soon. 2.5m x 2m family bathroom, no plastering but everything else the same as you.

We're looking at spending approx £2.5k on all the stuff (prob from Bathstore) and then a local builder is fitting it for £2.5k. Oh, that includes replacing a normal light with 6 x spot lights btw.
