In-frame slab kitchen

Yet again I've ended up down the rabbit hole of pinterest and googling kitchens for our upcoming house renovation and extension. I've just discovered 1909 Kitchens in-frame slab style and, well, it's love at first sight: In frame slab

Has anyone come across a company doing a similar style at a more affordable price point? At the moment I've got my eye on DIY kitchens Helmsley painted, which is a more simple shaker-style inframe, but I would love if I could find something flat fronted.

Looks like this Magnet kitchen to me.

Tatlerer · 06/01/2018 20:21

I'm afraid this won't help you much, but my next door neighbour has that 1909 kitchen and it's beautiful. We're 3/4 of the way through fitting a 1909 half pencil and scalloped and again, I'm in love...
Have you actually had it costed out, by a local kitchen supplier (not just one of the preferred suppliers they push you to). We saved over £15K that way...

Harvey Jones Linear
John Lewis of Hungerford Urban
Mereway
The Cupboard Door Company
Ashley Ann Caledonia Skye
1909 (as you know)

I know a few of these are very pricey, and not sure of cost on the others, but all of them seem to do this style. (The Magnet one is not quite the same as it has an extra border, I think?)

I'm hoping to get a joiner to copy the style for much less. I would have thought anyone who can make a shaker inframe kitchen can make this style.

minipie · 09/01/2018 00:17

Ooh just noticed Benchmarx (very good value) do this style, they call it Chelsea.

I suspect more and more companies are going to start offering it - not sure of your timescale but if you can wait I bet you'll find more options

MinisWin · 09/01/2018 19:19

Thanks for all of your very helpful replies so far - I'd come across a couple of these (eg. JL of H, Mereway) but lots of v. interesting leads. I think you're absolutely right though minipie, hoping holding off for a bit longer means that more companies will be offering this style (come ooooon DIY kitchens... 🤞🏻)

And that's a great tip too Tatlerer, thanks

Wickes Radley

minipie · 09/01/2018 21:51

Do ask DIY if they have any plans to offer the style - might tip the balance if they are considering it!

isaclorinda · 01/03/2018 12:04

Following the thread!

RebelRebel79 · 01/03/2018 13:01

Drooooool!

Soph41 · 02/03/2018 17:54

Oh I too have seen this exact kitchen and am in love - but it's tricky to find someone nearby who does it. It is very similar to the Magnet Newbury which we've also looked at.

4yearsnosleep · 02/03/2018 19:37

Go to unitsonline will probably have best deals for the 1909 kitchen. My absolute dream but it would've been that kitchen

actuarialsunshine · 02/03/2018 21:05

Other options depending where you are - Yew tree designs or 80/20 by naked kitchens

MinisWin · 05/03/2018 20:55

Oh! Hello all fellow in frame slab lovers! Just catching up on this. Some more excellent leads, thank you. Also of interest to you may be that DIY kitchens actually DO make an in frame slab design, albeit that it's currently discontinued. They will, however supply it on request, priced in line with one of their shaker in frame designs. Might be worth an email for anyone who's looking. And maybe they might bring it back in to their main range if they have enough demand.

Ooh. That kitchen is wow.

Not to help you with cheaper but similar kitchen.

But sit down, cup of tea, and drool over Devol kitchens 😩

PinkyPinkyPink · 05/03/2018 21:08

MinisWin, do you know what it is called? I emailed them about in-frame slab kitchens and was told they only do the shaker.

4yearsnosleep · 06/03/2018 07:07

If you go on their tour it's the crazy blue and white 50s one but they can do it in a plain colour. You do need a lot of imagination and I couldn't sell it to my husband

MinisWin · 06/03/2018 10:07

4yearsnosleep has got it! It's on the first floor on the tour. Having trouble tracking down the right email Pinky but it was in January that they said this to me so should be fairly up to date. They've done it out in a 50s style in the showroom so looks a bit wild, I'd want to see it in person to make sure that the unit style matches up fairly closely to one of the more expensive ranges but it's certainly a good find.

bilbodog · 06/03/2018 10:29

Surely this is just a fully framed kitchen with plain doors? Would have thought any company doing fully framed could do it.

4yearsnosleep · 06/03/2018 11:48

They can't put on plain doors to their inframe; I've already asked that question. Our kitchen won't be delivered until October, so I'm still hoping that they may officially launch a slab inframe!

Humptynumpty02 · 06/03/2018 12:06

Someone posted a pic of this kitchen in another thread, I'm unable to search right now but it's here somewhere.
