Door between hall and garage

I need to replace the internal door between my hall and garage.
Does this need to be a fire door? I'm a bit confused by conflicting info on google.
The garage will not be housing a car or tumble dryer. We just use it for storage.

we just converted our garage, so put a door in between the hall and the new room (garage) and it needed to be a fire door to meet building regs

Yes it does. I'm in the fire door trade and yes, the door to an integrated garage must be a fire door.

Thanks for your replies.
Interesting that it still had to be a fire door after you converted it. Why couldn't it just be a normal internal door then?

Have you blocked up the outside garage door then?

if you still have a garage door (they are very easy to force) then you need a 5-lever lock on the communicating door, and bolts (preferably mortice rackbolts) top and bottom.

Once someone has forced your garage door, they are out of sight while breaking into the house (and you may have provided them with useful tools).

Fire doors are thicker and more solid than ordinary doors.

iI think it had to be a fire door because it wasn't part of the house that was for living in originally,if that makes sense. but there were a few other things we had to do for building regs
