Best Scrubbable Emulsion

I'm looking for the best trade scrubbable emulsion. I've narrowed it down to Crown Extreme Clean Scrubbable Matt, Dulux Diamond Matt or Albany Durable Matt. I've also heard good things about Little Greene Intelligent Emulsion, but I'm not sure whether it's scrubbable?

Any ideas which gives the best finish in the least coats?

Thank you 😊
Many thanks

Watching this eagerly. I'm convinced I've always had silk for the scrubbable side. Decorator says no go for Matt! Arhhhhh

ThisOneNoThatOne · 10/12/2017 22:40

I have Little Green intelligent Emulsion and it is scrubbable. According to the shop assistant in the paint shop it has the same scrubbability score (not sure that's a word!) as Dulux diamond matt (I have that too and it is scrubbable). He said the best was the Crown one though, but I haven't tried that. It was a Brewers shop- they seem very knowledgeable.

ThisOneNoThatOne · 10/12/2017 22:46

My decorator seemed to like the Dulux diamond matt. Apparently as it's a good paint you need less than standard paint.

Blackgrouse · 10/12/2017 23:20

We have the Crown one in a few rooms. I painted over a large section of one wall of it with an emulsion and managed to scrub the paint back off (I realised I didn't like the colour).

Either Mylands marble matt(it has crushed marble in it) or Dulux diamond matt, both are really scrubable & hard wearing.

dontcallmelen · 10/12/2017 23:27

Mylands has the best coverage, it’s very thick & goes a very long way.
You can get from brewers.

ParadiseLaundry · 10/12/2017 23:28

We have Little Green Intelligent Emulsion in a few rooms in our house and it is marvellous, definitely scrub able and no colour seems to come off when you clean it.

4yearsnosleep · 11/12/2017 06:01

Thanks everyone. I hadn't looked at Mylands as the guy in Brewers only recommended Albany, Crown & Dulux. I'll do a bit more digging.

We have Dulux Diamond Matt in our hallway and it is scrubbable, but seems to chip easily and there's a grease stain (probably the 4year olds sticky mitts) that won't budge. However it touched up easily after it being on 3 years.

Did you decide on one 4yearsnosleep? I'm in this predicament right now!

MissCherryCakeyBun · 16/07/2018 17:21

@4yearsnosleep yep asking if you the choice you made was right as I'm in the same quandary

4yearsnosleep · 16/07/2018 17:39

We're likely going for Dulux Trade Diamond Matt as the colour is Dulux, but I'm still not convinced on how tough it is!

I use Dulux trade diamond Matt through my whole house. Actually just finished scrubbing parts of it and it looks as good as the day it was painted.

Would never use anything else on my walls!

PigletJohn · 16/07/2018 21:11

Albany is the own-brand of Brewers. Often used by trade painters who may have an account and get a good price.

No doubt it is made for them by one of the big European paint factories.

When I've used it I always found it fine. Better than own-brands from DIY sheds and high street shops.

lolalotta · 16/07/2018 21:17

Thank you for your responses! floodlamp is the diamond matt truly matt or does it have a slight sheen to it? pigletjohn will check out the Albany range, thank you!

lolalotta · 16/07/2018 21:17

floorlamp not floodlamp Grin

HopefullyMoving · 16/07/2018 21:24

Dulux TRADE Diamond Matt.
Anything else is substandard, apparently. Married to a decorator.

swimmerlab · 16/07/2018 21:25

We used Little Greene, it's great. Marks wash off easily and no colour comes off.

lolalotta · 16/07/2018 21:25

hopefullymoving could you ask him if the diamond matt is truly matt? Grin Can you tell I really want to know?

HopefullyMoving · 16/07/2018 21:30

If you're worried about grease stains then use Dulux trade diamond eggshell. It's one of the toughest things you can put on a wall (that isn't oil based anyway). It's what some schools use on their walls. It has a slight shine to it though. If not, stick with the diamond Matt trade.

Stay away from Mylands, apparently. Not as tough as the dulux stuff. Won't touch up well. There's better stuff out there, as above.

HopefullyMoving · 16/07/2018 21:31

@lolalotta no. It is less Matt than the vinyl matts, for example. You sacrifice 'mattress' for durability. A very skint hint of reflection to it.

HopefullyMoving · 16/07/2018 21:33

The Little Greene paint is good also. On a par with dulux trade I mentioned. But it's much more expensive.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 16/07/2018 21:34

Just checked and the paint our decorator used as Dulux diamond Matt and yes as you can see it's Matt. We are currently packing to move and the rooms full of boxes but I can get a better pic tomorrow if you like

I have Dulux trade vinyl matt on my walls and it's been really good and easy to remove marks

FloorLamp · 19/07/2018 19:10

Yes it's Matt.
