Kitchen units?

So we are talking about redoing our kitchen next year. At the moment we have a cream coloured shaker style kitchen that was put in when the house was built 14 years ago. It’s worked well but we are ready for a change now the built in appliances are dying off. But a lot of the lovely kitchens out there are shaker style too so it almost feels a waste to swap one shaker for another? Even though we’d be making changes to the fridge size, oven size etc and the layout so it would be different. Also I struggle to clean shakers due to arthritis in my fingers, getting into the grooves can be painful at times as my fingers lock.

My question - has anyone seen any flat units they love? We are still inclined towards shaker as it would suit our house but DH understands why it doesn’t 100% work for me. So where to look?

Are you fitting it or getting it fitted.?
Then it depends on budget
Wicks do some cheap flat packs but it does show in the quality., I think the hey also do the higena range but what I remember they are deeper than other makes so you have to get the right work surface.
B&Q do a good selection they do shaker style without the grooves
Ikea do a good range to.
Both are easy to put together and work well
Or Magnet supply units already made a bit more expensive but better quality

wait TIL after Christmas they will all have sales on

I normally go for B&Q as most of the stuff is held in store so if you have any problems you can make a quick visit and rectify it and you buy the bits separately so you can shop around for hinges handles etc.

Pretty much any kitchen shop stocks flat fronted units. Compared to a shaker, they will look a lot more modern. Do you have a budget in mind?

Sorry yes that would have helped. Our budget will be about £15k or so as we have a utility room as well plus the flooring will need replacing as a wall is coming down.

We’re just having a new kitchen fitted, the doors are cream gloss front, no grooves or anything, looks lovely

If you're having slab doors, you can have them in laminate which is much harder wearing than wood, paint or vinyl wrap.

DIY Kitchens is a good brand to try.
