How much to carpet a house?

Quick question.
We are buying a new house and have been quoted £2100 to carpet lounge, hall, stairs, landing and 3 bedrooms.
It's a 3 bed semi.
The 3 bedrooms are a cheaper carpet the rest is better quality.
Does that sound reasonable?
I've no idea as haven't done this in ages.
Thanks

We had the whole upstairs and living room done for just under 2k (3 bed semi), good quality too!

I’ve just paid £4,200 80% wool, decent underlay. Stairs, sitting room, 4 bedrooms and landing.

£1800 on South Coast for 3 beds, landing, stairs and lounge - with fitting and underlay. This was 5 years ago so this seems a fair quote.

Carpets seem to be victim of price fixing. Manufacturers will only supply retailers who sell at their prices. So no competition. No information available really to compare quality of carpets and no suppliers that will sell cheaply. I wonder what it costs to make carpet? Same idea with furniture suites but at least you can look around a bit but carpets seem a closed shop. You think there would be a law against it given how much they cost??

£3950 for 2 lounges, five bedrooms study and two sets of stairs and landings. Included fitting and underlay. We have same carpet all the way through so hall carpet became cheaper as he could use the off cuts!

About to do upstairs (4 beds and landing) and all in will be £1600 . So I'd say about right (also cheap carpets). We're in Yorkshire

Hi please did you get this done in london? Would you mind sharing the contact for them also. Thank you.

Hi guys , please can anyone recommend carpet fitter in London South East for me .

FurierTransform · 03/11/2021 18:02

Take a look at carpet /underlay costs online & work it out. Carpet fitting isn't an expensive trade labour wise - I wouldn't be paying more than £80/standard room.

Hi. 78Indigo where are you based please as I would like to know how much you would charge for a 4 bed detached carpeting with a good quality underlay and same silver grey carpet throughout please?
