Opinions on the these flats?

I'm currently renting a flat, but I'm not really feeling it so far. It's quite a bit away from my work and places I go to so I'm considering moving flats. I do live in a bit of a shithole place, so just try to ignore that and could you tell me which one you like the best? I would really appreciate it. So far I have 4 -

Some of the last one is kind of ugly but I would make some changes. I plan on furnishing them myself. Still looking!

It is yeah but I've lived around these areas for years and I've never personally had any bad experiences.

I like the second one best I think, provided the lack of bath isn't a massive issue for you.

crazycatgal · 04/12/2017 19:23

The second or first.

AlyTab · 04/12/2017 22:47

Not at all, I hate baths anyway so not an issue whatsoever.

I've decided that I have enough money saved over to buy a car, so it's much easier to get around. For now I think I'm going to stay in my current flat unless something changes as it's cheaper in rent by quite a bit. Gonna start saving up for a potential future deposit on a house, as in the area I live, there are actually so many gorgeous houses! I've never lived in a proper house before, so it's kind of a dream of mine. Obviously there are pros and cons of rent and buying but right now renting is obviously the best option for me.

Thank you all very much for your opinions regardless of what my end decision is (still not sure!), this whole housing thing is stressful as fuck Confused

Second one!

RestingGrinchFace · 04/12/2017 23:01

I would take either number two or number three. All things being equal number two.

I wouldn't go for a conversion having lived in one, particularly on the ground floor, just because they're usually craply done in terms of noise. At least the Airbles St one is purpose built so your soundproofing will be better and you get a laundry room. They've fucked around with the layout though - depends if you want all open plan. If you have lots of stuff that can soon look cluttered. Catherine St is practically North Motherwell anyway so no guarantee of non roughness to the poster who mentioned area. Tbh I'd keep in your cheaper place for now and then save up and buy if I were you OP -it's one of the few parts of the UK where you can do so on a normal wage.

MrsDoyleFallingOutTheWindow · 04/12/2017 23:26

The first one is very central though and is an entire house. But I bet you wouldn't pay much less for a mortgage.

MrsDoyleFallingOutTheWindow · 04/12/2017 23:27

*much more

AlyTab · 05/12/2017 14:49

This is the dream house, provided I ear enough money in the future lol.

I love the interior of the 2nd one - looks really modern and spacious too!

ArcheryAnnie · 05/12/2017 15:56

The first three are nice. (Number three is indeed ugly on the outside, but that's irrelevant as you are on the inside looking out!)

Number 4 looks a bit poky.

I suppose the main decision you have to make is: do you want a garden or not?

whiskyowl · 05/12/2017 16:39

Check the energy bills on each, I suspect some will retain heat much better than others. Good luck!

AlyTab · 05/12/2017 16:43

Thank you! Weird as it may be I would like the coolest place. I get heat flushes like a menopausal woman honestly (no offense at all the menopausal women lol).

I couldn't live with the black (?) carpet in Flat 4. Flat 3 is awful from the outside but I like the inside.

AlyTab · 05/12/2017 17:29

Me too I hate the carpet. Don't know if the landlord would let me change it or not.

soberexpat · 06/12/2017 01:33

Take two!

ChocolateCrunch · 06/12/2017 06:40

Number 2, with no 3 a close second.
