gas boiler, pressure and correct boiler

Hello out there

I don't know if anyone can help me but here goes
I had a new boiler fitted early this year. When I say new it was a new WB wrong boiler... I have an open vented sysytem the boiler that was fitted was a pressurised boiler. This got adapted to work with the original system. what i didn't know is that the pump was removed, the tank removed from loft, pipe dead ended etc etc...

anyway the boiler keeps loosing pressure i have searched on the net and found this page... Internet says water loss in system but where??
there is no leaks on the rads that I can find..also one of the radiators is cold at the bottom.. and only warm at the top. doesn't even burn my hand... This radiator was turned off when they did boiler shouldn't they have checked all the rads ... alas there was only my daughter here we were out of the country... As being acredited by WB (worcester bosch) I would have thought I would have got what ws on qoute and what I wanted and the work carried out properly

Can anyone please advise? Can I get gas man back and ask for correct boiler? what

thatnks

What makes you think you have the wrong boiler fitted? I may be wrong, but I believe there is no difference in boiler for a vented or unvented system, although I'm sure someone will correct me.

If the tank has been removed in the loft and you have a pressure gauge, it sounds like you have an unvented system now?

Where are you seeing the pressure loss. Is it on the boiler or on a gauge attached to the pipework? And what is the reported pressure?

As part of any changes to the CH pipework, the engineer should ensure all radiators are working and rebalance as necessary. You should definitely get the engineer back as you have paid for a new boiler that is fit for purpose but it sounds as though you have been left with a non-working system. The responsibility should fall with the engineer to explain why the pressure is falling.

In practice, this could be for many reasons:

  1. Air in the System.
  2. Leak
  3. Fault on the Boiler
  4. Faulty Pressure Relief Valves

Thanks for your help.

Only one tank was removed.. I still have the large header tank that feeds the emmersion heater and taps etc.

Sounds like a standard sealed system conversion.
They should have checked all the radiators as per the previous poster's helpful reply so definitely ask them about that.
Also any leaks in the system wherever they may be, they should come back as part of the fitting to diagnose and resolve any issues there.
