Moving a wooden playhouse

Hello, does anybody have any experience of taking apart and re-building a kids wooden playhouse? We want to buy one for our son but will be moving house next year. Is it worth it?

Some friends of mine have moved house with theirs twice and it's still going strong. Don't know if they took it apart to move it though, as it's really not that big and they moved with a company, so probably had room for it in the lorry...

Wouldn't imagine it would be that difficult, if you can put it together you can take it apart and rebuild. Just make sure you don't throw away the instructions.

My husband seems to think that the wood would split where it's been nailed together if you try to rebuild it?

We’ve taken ours apart and have yet to rebuild but most of it arrived in tact and in good condition. We will have to replace some bits but that is through wear rather than the de construction process. The roof was sacrificed as we had re felted it

You would need to use screws instead of nails when assembling it . Then you could take it apart without damaging it, and reassemble it easily.

The one we bought would have been a pain to take apart because the side panels blocked the screws that held it together so you would have had to remove them as well as taking each side apart. Since our move was fairly local and we hired a smallish van and did lots of trips we just put it on the van intact. It took four people to carry it then to get it past the shed we had to rake the roof off! It went back on again OK with no damage to the wood though.
