Lose the kitchen door?

I'm going round in circles, any help appreciated.
I'm opening up the wall between kitchen / diner, so losing wall space. The kitchen is small and has too many doors. Would it be foolish to shut off the door between the kitchen and hallway?
The only downside I can envisage is carrying shopping through the living room, but I can live with that.
There is loads of sun into the back of the house, so light not an issue.
I could also then use the hallway side of the old door for a shoe / coat rack, as well as having another run of units on the kitchen side.
Would it be daft to close off the door? Thanks in advance!

I obviously meant big kitchen diner but I do like a big kitchen dinner too Grin

Thanks for all your comments, seems like blocking the door is a no on general opinion!
I'm not keen to shut off the diner from the living room due to light / the way we use the space etc, I think all the doors will stay and I'll need to be clever with space.
