Advice please , thinking about moving to Dorset from Lancashire

We are family of 4 , have Two teenagers.
I'm really fed up living where we are, going to the same places etc.
It's a very industrial area.
Have been looking for jobs in different areas, have seen posts advertised in Dorset, based in Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth or
Chesil.
I've had quick look at the area, have never been, it looks stunning.
Has anyone any experience with these areas?
What I really am craving is to live near the sea, have much more outdoor kind of lifestyle for the whole family.
I'm imagining walking the dogs on the beach every day, kids learning to surf !!
I know it's a big touristy area and that can have its drawbacks.
Any advice would be great

Chibi, slowly the expansion of student numbers seems to be edging out the benefit tourists in Boscombe, and there has been some pleasant regeneration near the sea front. Which means it is a cross between the land that time forgot and a student town, with a few pensioners thrown into the mix. Property prices are lower.

If you are in the mood for property porn, it is worth searching BH13 on Rightmove and sorting from highest to lowest. There are a huge number of really expensive properties with more being built all the time. Its a mystery as to how so many people have so much money.

I had seen a few property articles about the gentrification of Boscombe, understandable in a way, there is some great architecture there, but what's happened with the artificial reef?

what's happened with the artificial reef?

Apparently some bits of it washed up after stormy Brian last week.

Weymouth can be a bit of a dive to be honest - it's nice in summer but not so nice I'm winter. (we live close by) The town centre isn't great and the nightlife has taken a bit of a hit lately. If you can afford it, Bournemouth and poole would be better for your teenagers

What do your teenagers want now and for their futures. They will be limited workwise down here.

Really? Lots of employers in Poole/Bournmouth including a significant financial sector and manufacturers like Farrow and Ball, and Lush. It is hard to think of any place in the UK with as diverse an economy outside the big cities.
