I’m looking at the dark blue shaker style kitchen. The designer is coming on Tuesday and I have an idea of what I need in my kitchen.
Depending on the price they come back with I may go to DIY kitchens in S Yorkshire to see what they can do for me.
Please tell me if you have a Wickes kitchen and if you recommend them.

Gorgeous Sorel and exciting that they’re on a par with DIY kitchens price wise. Also doable to visit then Too. I’m very excited, thank you!

HeyMacWay
Can you tell me the process you went through with DIY kitchens?

Did they help you design it?
Did you get a design done with another company first and take that to DIY K ?

Wow. Just gorgeous. Lovely windows.
I’ve just ordered dark grey windows for our house.

I used to be a designer for Wickes. The units really are built to last and I've never had any complaints about them. We constantly had repeat customers because they were so impressed.

They are supplied by a company caller Gower not Benchmark. Benchmark and Wickes are owned by Travis Perkins which is why they sell the same units.

Thanks Bubbles.

Of course ihatethecold

I had designs made up by both wickes and howdens, and in the end came up with a mixture of the two and made it my own and it works really well.

Diy kitchens can't help you design it, but if you email them another design and spec they'll give you a list of the equivalent units to buy from their ranges.

When I'd placed my order they came back to me with a couple of design queries which I thought was good. You can also call them with any questions before you place the order. I must have called them about 20 times before I finally pressed send :o

Their website is easy to navigate and I didn't have any problems with the delivery or any of the units etc. My fitter was impressed with the units and how well everything was packed. He'd never used them before and generally recommended Howdens for ease as it's only down the road from us. He said he'd definitely look into them for his own kitchen.

I used worktop express for the worktops as I wanted 27mm oak and diy kitchens only did 40mm.

The only thing missing from my DIY order was one end panel, which should be with us in a double of days.

Absolutely loving the kitchen, soft close doors and drawers are amazing!

interesting Bubbles.
However Benchmarx is still half the price of Wickes.

Probably worth mentioning that Units On Line will do you plan for you too.

We had a bad experience with them, their designer made a mistake when measuring and refused to take responsibility.
We were forced to order new units, with two weeks delivery, and take back the (very heavy) units all the way to the second floor of their shop, as if it was our mistake. The designer totally refused to help, and was extremely rude.
We spoke to the local shop's assistant manager and he was very rude too. Head office were able to speed up delivery, luckily, although the designer said there was nothing she could do.

However the quality was decent, we bought one of the cheapest ranges and it was good value for money. Installation was extremely expensive, plus the quote would have to be confirmed by the contractor once we had paid a deposit, meaning that it could end up costing much more, and I don't like to commit to something if I don't have a firm cost.
I don't think I would use them again in future.
