Composite doors, - do they age well?

Hi all, I've looked at the composite front doors in a local showroom, and they look lovely, just like wood but without the warp! The price is better than an engineered wooded one of the same design. However, all doors look beautiful in the warm clean environment of a showroom, but do they age well? Our old upvc front door faded and stained after some years. If you've had a composite door for a few years, does it still look lovely? Are you pleased with it?

Friend has a navy blue one that's about 5 years old and still looks brand new. I would have thought you could paint it if it faded, the front is wood after all. I have just bought a grey one and I'm really happy with the look although can't comment on how it will age yet.

I’m changing my white pvc door for a composite door, but can’t decide on the colour . I’m having a distinction door, and am looking at black , honey beige , duck egg or blue . Is black too harsh and unfriendly ? Is honey beige too bland ? Will I get fed up of colours ? Any thoughts please ? Thanks

I have west facing composite door. It cost.£1,800 twenty years ago. It is called a Rock Door and looks exactly as it did when it was installed. No fading, no warping and has a Yale lock in addition to usual handle which has to be raised to engage bolts. As with everything else there are composite doors and there are composite doors!
