What colour would you paint this hallway?

Need to redecorate basically the whole house but having particular disagreements with DH about the hallway. What colour would you paint this hallway? Current colour was a huge mistake, supposed to be a soft brown but turned out purplish. Carpet is staying. We don’t get a vast amount of natural light. Would love some suggestions from people who have a better eye for this stuff than me (so basically anyone!)

We’ve just done ours and it’s darker than we’d like too. We hadn’t realised that the previous owners had gone for a ‘warm’ tone (presumably to brighten it up) until we had testers out. Everything looked sludgy on the wall as it was dark. We went for white in the end with the door panels painted a mushroom grey/Brown. Haven’t regretted the white for a second and it’s definitely better.

Oh don't change the doors. There are ways around that (as TeeBee alluded to)

I would just go for a very very light blue toned grey. Cool colours make spaces look larger and brown doors look a bit wrong with warned toned walls.

I love it as it is. I’m just about to paint our upstairs hallway and aspire to have it looking just like yours!

We fireproofed our doors using intumescent strips and door panels and fire proof paint

Try the dulux app out on your phone. You can pick any colour dulux make and point camera at said area and it puts that colour in your walls. It’s fab and helps you to play around.

Wow I app that app!

panelled doors are very easy to straighten. If you are reasonably tall you can do it yourself without even taking them off.

The paint will crack a bit.
