Grey bedroom, suggestions for a nice grey?

Teen dsd would like a grey bedroom, not a statement wall the whole room. Looking for a soft grey, quite like F&B Blackened..any suggestions for a nice soft ‘warm’ grey that’s not too dark?

Thank you

F&b purbeck stone or if want it lighter ammonite are both lovely, also the little greene paint company French grey is gorgeous, they have French grey pale and dark as well! My husband is an interior designer and uses these colours the most, we have perbeck stone in our bedroom and I love it!Smile

I love dulux chic shadow. It's a warm, light grey but very definitely grey iyswim?

babyboyHarrison · 17/10/2017 07:59

Earthborn paint in cats cradle. The paints have no smell either and really good coverage. Ordered sample pots in several colours first from celtic sustainables. The paint is very matt. More expensive than dulex cheaper than f&b

Thank you..I’ll get testers

Dulex? Is that a cross between Dulux and Durex? The best protection for your walls eh?

sweetkitty · 17/10/2017 23:28

My DD2 chose Dulux Natural Slate for one wall and Goose Down for the other 3. Natural Slate is quite dark but goose down is lovely.

Dulux dusted moss 2. Very soft almost greenish in some lights.

I have F and B Dove Tale in the bedroom. So lovely, very warm.

suzyrut · 18/10/2017 17:04

I'd second dusted moss 2, it's a really lovely soft grey, had it in my living room (until I moved) and always got a lot of compliments. If you want something slightly stronger I can recommend Dowager from Fired Earth is a lovely grey that has some warmth to it but not too beige.

SheSparkles · 18/10/2017 19:08

Dulux polished pebble, it's a lovely soft warm grey, not too dark, but very definitely grey

merrykate · 18/10/2017 19:09

Dulux Goose Down is a beautiful shade.

SquareWord · 18/10/2017 19:11

Dulux Goose Down is lovely.

TheScottishPlay · 18/10/2017 19:14

Another vote for Dulux Chic Shadow. It's part of the colour scheme in DS room. I love it.

Gertiegoolash · 18/10/2017 19:17

Dulux polished pebble, we have it in our livingroom and it's a lovely soft grey

LazySusan11 · 19/10/2017 07:44

Now I have more to choose from! Why are there so many versions of grey?!

OK, slightly off the wall suggestion but I have grey wallpaper on one wall, and I'm thinking of pairing it with the F&B colour Brassica. Apparently purpley tones are the new big thing. My BIL and his partner (designers) have put it in their front room and it looks fab.

LazySusan11 · 19/10/2017 08:13

Sounds lovely whisk but dsd wants her bedroom entirely grey, with dusky pink accents and a cream carpet hell no so many lovely suggestions god bless Mumsnet!

whiskyowl · 19/10/2017 08:46

Ahhh dusky pink is all the rage, your DD is on trend!

And a definitely NO to cream carpet. I was talked into one by DH and it is a nightmare. Never again!

babyboyHarrison · 19/10/2017 09:53

Sounds lovely, she should have some copper accents around the place. Some nice lampshades with copper inside would look great with that.

BabloHoney · 19/10/2017 09:59

We just used Graham and Brown Clancy Gray.. gorgeous shade!

LazySusan11 · 19/10/2017 10:12

Copper lighting etc sounds great, thank you for that suggestion. Looking at Clancy grey now.

I don’t really want to put testers on the wall, I’m told you should paint on paper then stick them to the wall to see?

We painted large sheets of paper and tried moving them around different walls at different times of day to help us decide. Definitely recommend doing that.
