We’re currently having an extension done and we’re looking at kitchens. This is an idea of what we’ll be having (not 100% decided but definitely these units)
I don’t know what to do with an extractor hood.
Those with islands could you show me what you have as I’m struggling! Am I best changing and having the sink in the island?

We went for the cookology one (£400) with the venting kit and it works fine. Though we don’t use it lots .. I’d have been gutted if I’d spent £1400

This is weird seeing this thread back! Our plan looks so different. Here's ours!

@QuitMoaning

I have the island and in two weeks I shall have the worktops installed and the hob and extractor.

I went for a downdraft but bought a cookology one which has excellent reviews but a fraction of the famous brands. I did consider a bora hob but the problem with some of those styles (in my opinion) is that it contradicts one of the USP of inductions, the easily cleaned surface. In addition, I worry that if the extractor goes wrong then I have to replace the whole thing.
I also overspent in one of the project areas so needed to cut some costs somewhere. If my extractor is rubbish it is a £400 mistake, not a £1400 one.
Time will tell.

Can I ask how your Cookology extractor hob is working a few years down the road?

@QuitMoaning

Try cookology ones on Amazon. A fraction of the price and the reviews seem very good. Mine was around £400 which is much cheaper. Give me a few months and I will have my own experience but I am hoping the reviews are genuine......
@QuitMoaning have you found any replacement filters? I have this unit but can't source the sane sized filters, wondering if you could help.
