Someone that couldn’t play darts.

Hi Guys,

Need some advice. And help. I can’t afford to have this whole bedroom re-plastered. Some nitwit decided they would start playing darts in a bedroom of the house that we bought, obviously they hid this damage with a wardrobe when viewing the property. So now I’m left with this hideous wall that I need to fix. Any ideas what I can buy to skim over that won’t have an end result of an aweful room. P.s I’m a perfectionist but not a great diy person.

I especially like the fact that they decided to do this directly above an electrical socket, could be a surprise when they try to get the dart back.
Anyway as above, scrape off any loose with a scraping knife or whatever, fill according to the instructions on the pack, sand smooth and then repaint in your choice of colour. Then relax!

Fine flling is very relaxing in itself. 😀

johnd :o

They've made quite a mess of it, haven't they? It'll take patience tget it all with fine surface filler as it's a pretty stiff mix. Stick with paint with a very Matt finish to go over it or you might want to consider using lining paper but you need to be very good at putting it up for it to look better than a less than perfect painted wall.

Trust me, this does not surprise me in this house. Some of the electrical sockets were on the skirting boards under raidiators, so that if there was ever a water leak on the radiator it would have sprayed straight into the sockets. Thank you for the link for the filler I will go and get this. Sadly my wallpapering is aweful. So covering with wallpaper is not an option.

PickaChew - it seems they attempted to cover the worst and then not bothering to sand it down and just paint it instead. So it’s left an awful mess.
