Any downside to Lymm Cheshire - this sounds too good to be true!

Relocating to Manchester, so looking at Cheshire for location.
What do you think of this property? Property looks great, what's wrong with Lymm?

Have you looked at properties in Nantwich? That's a lovely town.

MaggieMeldrum · 27/09/2017 22:52

I like around there. They're are plans to build a thousand new homes on green belt and build a huge new bypass. Be very care about buying there.

busyboysmum · 27/09/2017 22:52

It's free to park at Sale Water Park as it's a park and ride.

gillybeanz · 27/09/2017 22:53

Is it on the new flight path, I know some people in Knutsford who are pretty pissed off.

busyboysmum · 27/09/2017 22:53

*lollipop7

Lymm to Sale every day in rush hour?

Trust me you won't do it for long.*

Absolutely agree Smile

MyBrilliantDisguise · 27/09/2017 22:53

This is in Nantwich.

busyboysmum · 27/09/2017 22:54

Why didn't that bold itself?

busyboysmum · 27/09/2017 22:54

Oooh lovely.

phoolani · 27/09/2017 22:56

Meesh - well, now I’m thinking! I spelled it like that instinctively, but gocheshire seems to think it might be spelled that way..?
I’m kind of intrigued now!

Busyboys I didn't know that about Sale Water Park.

Knutsford is right under the flight path already gilly - I don't think anywhere (including Lymm) is quite as bad.

Meesh77 · 27/09/2017 23:00

Phoolani, how old are you? I'm 44, my husband is 45.

We definitely remember it spelled Lymn!

phoolani · 27/09/2017 23:05

Meesh - I’m 44...now I’m am intrigued. First time Lymn has ever intrigued me! I’m going to ask my parents to spell it!

phoolani · 27/09/2017 23:07

Now I’m thinking about it, Lymm just seems so wrong..

Meesh77 · 27/09/2017 23:08

How very curious! Perhaps it's the Nelson Mandela Effect!

Let me know what they say!

busyboysmum · 27/09/2017 23:10

Lymm is right. Maybe you're thinking of hymn. It's the only word I can think of spelled like that. I've never seen Lymn.

Nongoddess · 27/09/2017 23:19

Oh, I think it's lovely round there for families etc. Grew up there and do miss it a bit. Right though that it ain't the centre of the universe... Definitely LYMM with two 'm's: it appears in the Domesday book, don't you know, as Lime/Limme. Not sure whether your semi-detached makes an appearance there. opendomesday.org/place/SJ6786/lymm/

Thanks for all the advice, lots to think about, but do love the house and location.

We live just in Derbyshire. There are some beautiful houses around here - lots of them stone built, a good community feel and there is a train line to Manchester. Best of all is the stunning scenery. If having a Cheshire address is important to you, Disley might be worth a look. The new airport relief road is nearly finished which will cut journey times to the motorway network.
