Paint inspiration to brighten a south facing room !!!

Apparently, my bedroom is south facing. Now the difficulty part is choosing a paint as there are so many types of finishes, brand and shade. Words like pure, brilliant, off-white, trade contract, soft sheen, matt confuse the hell out of my brain.

My idea is to use a turquoise pleated blind for the window, dulux luscious lime for 1 wall and the rest of the wall bright or warm white. According to pinterest, turquoise, and lime go well with bright or warm white. My issue now is choosing a bright or warm white. This is where I hope you guys can help with.

I thought about pure brilliant or just brilliant white but I read some where that suggested that paint a room in pure brilliant or just brilliant white is not a good idea (something about it will make the room look cold, clinical etc) and that instead soft white like sail or jasmine white will be better.

Any idea on which bright or warm white to choose for a south facing room.

Bloody hell, lime and turquoise, are you sure about this? Grin

Honestly, I would find that headache-inducing, but each to her own! I think it depends what look you're going for. You can put a pink with lime and turquoise for a more seasidey feel, or a darker teal colour to tone down the contrast, or even a neutral like a brown with a lighter shade of blue.

The idea am going for is all white wall with turquoise blind and one wall in luscious lime. Well according to pinterest bright or warm white, turquoise and lime go well together. I suppose in the picture you uploaded the lime and turquoise doesn't seem to blend well.

I read an article that pure brilliant white can go yellow after few months of paintings. Has any one experience this ?

No I haven't, I think it's really unusual with modern paint. Your plans sound fine there's plenty of white to make the turquoise and lime work. Choose bed linen that's white with one or both of your colours as it's pattern. And go for it!

Is it necessary for the colour I choose for.my upholstery bed to match the white, lime and turquoise theme. I was thinking white as the majority of the room.will be white but may get dirty too quickly.

Not sure if lime and turquoise can be class as strong colour but have a quick question for you guy. Is it true that a white paint on the cooler end of the spectrum look and work well in conjunction with stronger course.?

Is pure brilliant white a cool white?. If (no) can any one please give me an example of a white paint from any brand that's on the cooler end of the spectrum.

Out of brilliant white and pure brilliant white, which is whiter and brighter?
