Front door advice

We've got a 1950's house in desperate need of a new front door. I'd like something really secure but in keeping where should I start looking?

I'd start by researching door styles on houses of the same period and style. That way you'll know what you want before approaching any shops.

We have a sixties house and have just had a solidor front door fitted. There are some mid century modern style designs within their 'Italia' range. We opted for a non grooved version of one of these models in a teal shade. I'm really pleased with it.

We are getting a Rockdoor fitted. Very very secure. And lots of lovely styles.

Also just had a Solidor. Can't tell you how great it is (1930s so not much help design wise) but feels very secure & great quality.

We have a Rockdoor. Super secure and lots of styles to choose from.

We have a steel security door with a 5 bar lock, steel frame cemented in and next to it a security window also with a steel frame. It is a 30's house and we chose one that fitted in with the house, there are a lot to choose from.

Whenever anyone in the road or surrounding ones replaces a door or renovates they get these doors.

Can I ask where did you get yours?

We just bought a second hand wooden door to be fitted. (and it hopefully will). It just felt like it suited the house more than a new composite one.

We used the company the neighbours used but I would go elsewhere if we did it again, I do have a second choice, London area. If it is a proper security door you are looking for I can try to get the details for you.
