Such cutting edge, sexy and gripping subject matter will have this thread trending instantly, right? Grin

But seriously, after last winter spent up a step ladder scrubbing mould off the bathroom ceiling, I'm determined to take preventative measures this year! Room is 2.3 x 2.6 m. The range available on Amazon is kind of baffling to a novice.

So... do you own a dehumidifier? Can you share your wisdom? What capacity do I need? What's a reasonable amount to spend? Thanks in advance lovely people!

Meaco. Absolutely fabulous. while we are moved out and renovating our house (to attempt to fix the underlying issue...) it's still on pretty much fulltime keeping the humidity in our rented property under control and drying our clothes. We bought a second smaller one for our house specifically for the kitchen which was especially damp.

I highly recommend a dehumidifier!! Our house used to smell like an old damp caravan and now it doesn't. It's also warmer. We have a Meaco one as well - the smaller one - and that's enough for our house (small-ish terrace). It has a setting to dry washing and so we don't use our dryer as much either. They are pricey and boring to spend money on, but so worth it!

If you are living in a house which has unresolved damp problem and the LL should be sorting it out, why would you not address that first and instead spend money buying and running a dehumidifier?
