How easy is it to move a cylinder tank into the loft?

My husband has a plan to increase the size of the shower cubicle in the en suite by knocking though into the airing cupboard (we would pay professionals for this).

Is this a relatively straightforward job? The tank would need to be moved into the loft. At present it's a huge thing which I understand is a little unnecessary (I think modern versions are smaller) and takes up so much room in the cupboard there's barely any room for anything else so we wouldn't miss it.

If anyone has any advice, we would appreciate it.

Don't most people switch to a combi boiler when they do this?

modern ones are bigger, not smaller, because people like powerful showers that use a lot of water.

What colour is your cylinder?

Any reason you can't switch to a combi? So much easier.

I had this done in my last flat, moved it across to a different cupboard across the hall.

I didn't do the work myself but it wasn't hugely expensive, so I think it was relatively straightforward.

^^ Yeah. Across the hall and up a floor into an uninhabited space are the same. 🙄
