Carpet - Am I too fussy?

I have new heather twist cut pile carpet and underlay in bedrooms, landing and stairs.

In one bedroom I found a join in an alcove. Carpet retailer admitted to measuring the room wrongly so replaced the carpet! But thing is the carpet looks slightly different. In the first picture is bedroom is on right and landing on the left. In the second picture the landing is at the right with bedroom on the left.

Can anyone see feint lines the bedroom carpet? Chap from the showroom came round and had a look. He says replacement carpet was cut from same roll, I'm seeing things and anyway after a bit of wear it will blend in.

I am very stressed at moment about other things. Am I focussing unnecessarily on the bedroom carpet and there really isn't a problem or if there is a difference I should just live with it?

Any mumsnetters' views greatly appreciated!

I can't see any difference tbh.

It looks the same - maybe just the throw of the light that makes it looks different to you?

Somehow posted a bit early before I could tidy up the post. Hope it made sense.

Also I have a habit of intensely scrutinising things. Also now wished I hadn't had the carpet replaced.

Next thing I've focussed on is the underlay. Think I should have had better one on stairs. Did get better one and it was fitted on the landing but I was talked out of it going on the stairs by the carpet fitter as it was 11mm thick with a high density. Wish I'd stuck to my guns. Even now I want to change it.

Sorry everyone for wittering on but it's helped a bit to get how I'm feeling off my chest. I have a major issue with DS that's breaking my heart and I can't get over the carpet!!? How stupid am I!

Not stupid at all, it's really common to obsess over little things when you have a lot of stressful things happening. It's transference where all your anxiety about the big overwhelming problem goes into something seemingly irrelevant.
Fwiw I can't see the difference.
Be kind to yourself.

I can't see any difference tbh. It makes absolute sense that if you've got this huge thing hanging over your head you'll focus intensely on something else. When I'm stressed I can spend absolutely hours on the most ridiculous things just so that I don't have to think about the thing that is stressing me.

I'm getting muddled up with posts I thought I made but didn't!

Thank you to you all so much all for your replies. Flowers

Although it will be hard due to my obsessive nature, I will try and get things in more perspective. Thanks again.

Yes, it does sound like you're channeling negative emotions from your son situation into the carpet situation. And the carpet looks absolutely fine.
