Cleaning porcelain floor tiles

I recently had some grey porcelain floor tiles laid in the kitchen and in theory they look great - except that every drop of water, smudge of grease, food etc leaves a mark. As a result, the floor looks a total mess most of the time. When I wash the floor, most of the water rings go but some of the grease marks are left.

I've checked the tile info online and it doesn't say they need to be sealed but at the moment they seem to be absorbing everything. I think they're unglazed (is that the same as unsealed?)

I suppose my questions are: first, is it too late to seal the tiles now (i.e. will I just be dealing in the marks permanently?), and secondly, is there a particular product I can use to make the floor look better?

Thanks!

Grey porcelain here too, we use nothing more than a steam mop and all marks are gone every time.

Thanks humpty. I've never used one but maybe I need to invest.

Does it remove grease /food marks too?

I'm presuming the issue with mine is the lack of sealing though. I can't believe we're dirtier than normal in terms of food marks on the floor but nothing I've done so far cleaning wise seems to get rid of all the marks!

I have porcelain "limestone" tiles and we have a steam cleaner which works extremely well. If you feel the tiles need sealing (they shouldn't if they are glazed ceramic) ) do it, but don't seal in the marks you cannot remove. Try and get the tiles back to the best condition and then seal. Are the tiles glazed?

I've got the same problem. Have tried all sorts of things - including steam mop and special tile cleaner - but nothing makes any difference. Ten minutes after cleaning it's as bad as ever. It's at its worst if the floor is trodden on before it is bone dry, foot prints show clearly. Has anyone tried to seal floors after they're laid?

Yes, I'd like to know this, if I can seal them now or if it's too late... Presumably it's pretty easy to apply / brush on.
