Visiting after offer accepted

Our purchase is going ahead really well and we are off to see the house again on Monday to measure up! It'll be the first time we've seen it since our offer was accepted back in June.

What else would you make note of? DIY jobs? Would it be useful to note measurements between things (fireplace to French doors for e.g.)?

I'm too excited to think straight!

Congratulations! Very exciting. I think we mostly just measured up when we visited our house after the offer was accepted. The vendor also offered to sell us some stuff so we took the chance to look at those things too. Good luck!

It can be useful to note measurements between things if you have ideas for furniture or want to make sure your existing furniture will fit in the spaces available.

Check the fixtures and fittings list before you go - if you're going to need to buy curtains or blinds, this would be a good chance to measure for those. Worth checking a curtain website for details of how to measure in advance if that's the case - and check whether the window has a curtain pole or track, and what colour.

Also if you need to buy white goods, you might want to measure the recesses for those.

Take a load of photos to help plan furniture placement.

Check for narrow "pinch points" for moving furniture. (our previous house had a circular staircase and it was only when closely questioned that the knobhead vendor admitted that his double bed had to be winched through the first floor window)
