Can anyone tell me at about living in Windlesham?

Hi
We really like this area and have seen there are houses in our budget (700k) but my dh still would need to commute in to central London. I presume that there are a fair few people who do this from Windlesham but what would be the recommended route and how long would it take roughly including getting to a station?
Also, what's Windlesham itself like to live in? We are hoping for a friendly community - our dd is very much into horse riding, dh into golf and I just like smaller communities than where are living so want a semi rural feel.
Would much appreciate any thoughts. Thank you!

Windlesham is a lovely village. The nearest station is Sunningdale; look up the travel times into London. I think it is quite slow!

Thank you Cece - I agree, it looks absolutely lovely and I know the trains do look slow but I'm wondering how locals get to/from the station for example? Is there enough parking at Sunningdale? How long would it take in rush hour to get there? Thank you.

There is generally parking available at sunningdale at about 8 am. Roads not that congested so shouldn't take too long to drive there. It is a long journey to London though. Much quicker train route from Woking. Have you thought about horsell as parts of that are walking distance to Woking? It is very family friendly but not as semi rural. Other option is chobham which is between sunningdale and Woking. However driving to Woking is not ideal because the roads are busy leading in to Woking. Hope that helps a bit.

Thank you Zozo - ideally looking for a more rural location but must admit I'm getting worried about the London commute from Windlesham. I imagine that is why the properties in our price range seem relatively good value compared with other areas!

Woking is definitely a quicker train route. You could drive to Woking from Windlesham.

How about Send or Ripley? Both south of Woking. Plus I think they are both in catchment for George Abbot secondary school, which is considered desirable.
