Help me cheer up my frontage!

I have a 10 year old red brick house lacking kerb appeal. There isn't really a front garden, just a drive going across the front of the house.

I need help with the windows and door. Due to a design quirk the left hand side of the front has a double height window but the right part only has ground floor windows. The windows are hardwood double glazing, which I think look a bit done.

I saw a lovely grey rendered house the other day with a yellow front door and it looked cheerful and lovely. How can I make modern red brick look welcoming? Should I go for dark window frames and a bright front door?

We're coastal and I was planning on putting pots with grasses etc in front to soften it up a bit. Perhaps a climber to cover the large section of uninterrupted red brick higher up?

CAn you post a pic or one similar?

If it's a modern house does it have a modern door? The right kind of warm greyish colour can look good with red brick. Or dark navy.

Re climbers, I love climbing hydrangea but they do take some time to establish.

I love climbing hydrangea too. Smile

I'm googling, but don't want to post a pic of my actual house.

I like that dark grey. Yes, it's a modern front door, v like the one on the pic.

This isn't my house (sadly!) but this is similar to the type of brick.

The windows are this type of wood, but no leading and less busy frame-wise.

Hanging baskets might be pretty? An attractive house number? Tree in a pot?
