Fischer heaters- is there an equivalent cheaper alternative?

Quote from salesman (and quite a hard sell!) was £6K for three heaters Shock
Can any of you experienced money savvy MNers recommend any alternatives for similar products? The German heaters with clay core... or whatever... seem to me to be best.

Ask the salesman how these electric heaters are able to convert a kilowatt of electrical energy into more heat than any other electrical heater.

I would be really interested in the answer.

Apparently the heater's core retains heat really well so that if it's on for 10 minutes, it keeps letting out heat 10 minutes after it's turned 'off'. He did a demo and it did seem fantastic but it's just too expensive. I just wondered if anyone has had quotes from other companies out there who offer the similar product (e.g. Electrorad/Aeroflow, Electric Heating Expert) and if they were any cheaper.

Hmm... Thermal capacity. Only 10 mins is a bit crap, storage heaters do hours. Most things when heated up retain heat for a while.

I thought these were a scam, no? Pretty sure there was a big hoo ha on the money saving expert websit where it turned out that they are just like any other heater.

" if it's on for 10 minutes, it keeps letting out heat 10 minutes after it's turned 'off'"

If it was, for example, a 2kW heater, and you heated it for 10 minutes, and it gave out the heat for 20 minutes, that would be exactly the same amount of energy (and electrical cost) as if you turned on a 1kW heater for twenty minutes.

They don't give out any more heat than any other electrical heater. All electrical heaters are equally efficient.

Thank you for your posts.
Having done a bit more research this afternoon I'm horrified to see how Fischer work. They seem to have such a positive internet presence but to me it seems that good reviews etc are all part of their massive advertising campaign. It's amazing that it's allowed.
I shall be looking into other heaters and set myself a much lower budget (hooray!)
Have a good evening everyone.
