I've attached a pic of the current layout of our bedrooms. We need another room but no way of extending at the minute so our only option is to think about dividing the large room? Can anyone give me some ideas how best to do it? We'd use stud wall that we can remove again but am a bit stuck with how divide it. Only option I can see is to put a wall down the middle and that would cut the window in half?
Thanks in advance

Room divider is the most cost effective solution, especially if you are looking for a permanent solution in due course

Could you make a toddler nook out of the corner between the built in cupboard and the front wall? Maybe with a thick curtain instead? Obviously not ideal for adult privacy but sometimes needs must.

Or sleep downstairs and keep all your stuff in the toddler's room.

Thanks so much for all the ideas..
Given me lots to consider though I think I'm edging towards just sleeping downstairs
Now to see about futons!

Depends on room sizes but would something like this work?
(Sorry for the crap diagram but blue new window, green doors...)

No to futons!!!

Ikea manstad is v. Comfy (but I would use a thick duvet underneath you as it's annoying to put a fitted sheet on)

Point taken.. Will have a look at the ikea one. It'll have to ok for use every night though

Might be an option to put bathroom between front and back bedrooms ( on left side of building ) and change existing bathroom to a bedroom ? But is very dependent on plumbing - and being able to get an extractor fan ducting out - as will have no window.
Maybe get a builder or plumber over to advise ?!

I would post your dilemma on houzz you'll likely get opinions from architects and interior designers, although there is a handyman on there who comes up with genius ideas for space.

You might see me on there !! (Although I don't have quite as much free time as others who post) - I catch up after I've finished working on clients projects or before I start work ! And occasionally when I'm on a coffee break ! - a bit like when I post on here !
