olive oil spilt on raw (recycled) teak table

We now have a nice circular oil stain that sticks out like a sore thumb. Is there any way of removing it? I tried blotting immediately & a light sand. It didn't help. Any ideas?

mix olive oil and lemon juice 4:1 ratio and clean the whole table. it will feed the wood and make it look better- I use an old sick. I do this with all upcycled furniture I buy and it darkens the wood and feeds it.

Try teak oil over the whole table. Olive oil and other veg oils break down and will smell after a while.

rub oil over the whole thing. Make a pad of lint-free cotton cloth and rub it up and down the grain.

You say it is raw, you mean, not varnished or anything? It is normal to oil teak. You can buy special teak oil, but it will just be some vegetable oil, as has been used for centuries. Rub off all excess, don't leave any oil on the surface that has not soaked in, or it will go sticky as it oxidises.

You can remove excess oil with white spirit, but you have to be quick, before it starts to oxidise.
