Dripping tap - LL or tenant?

Whose responsibility is it to fix a dripping tap?
I've checked the tenancy agreement but it's not clear.
It's a mixer tap in the kitchen. I've checked the washers and they look ok so it could be the cylinders or it could need a new tap.
I don't want to bother my LL if it's my job to sort it.

I'd speak to my landlord, in fact I did with this same problem. We replaced the washer which didn't help so then we spoke to our landlord. In our case we needed a new tap.

Speak to the LL: if it's not your job to fix it and you make a mess of it then they won't be pleased and you could lay yourself open to all sorts of accusations.
Just say "there's a problem. I'll try to fix it, if that's OK by you."

Landlord 100%

On a practical level, it's a minor unimportant fault. If you're with a council or housing association, or a crap private landlord, it could be months before they bother to fix it. Getting your own plumber in, even if you "shouldn't have to", might be the only way to get it sorted soon.

(Of course if you have a good landlord then it will be no problem.)

Right I'll give him a ring. I just hate bothering him because he's a busy solicitor and it's a minor thing.
Thanks everyone.

You're not bothering him though - you are making him aware of a maintenance issue and he should sort it.

And it doesn't matter whether he has a busy other job. He also has the job of being your landlord!

He's just text to say that it's his responsibility and he's asked his plumber to call me.
I'm glad I checked. My last LL wasn't big on repairs unless it was to do with the boiler or gas and I used to pay for most of them myself.
