I am buying a house with my partner and I am putting in all of the substantial deposit of approx £100k. He has no deposit. I want to set it up so that my £100k is protected should we split up and sell the house. I believe I need a deed of trust? The issue is I wanted to be joint tenants as we have a child together so if I die I wanted the house to go to my partner. Can I be a joint tenant AND protect my £100k?

I am married but set up a deed of trust I think it's called, just so if I die the share of my house could only go to my kids when they're old enough. Why would you want it to go to your partner?? If he remarried your child would inherit nothing (potentially) from you :(.

I meant OUR kids. We both did it so our kids would inherit if either of us die.
