Which house looks best? Links included

I like both houses. They are next door to each other and am debating which one would be better long term. They are both exactly the same lay out etc. Number 1 is far more overlooked but 2 has a wall. So mumsnet jury, which one do you prefer and why?

I feel both have plus points but hoping you may spot something I haven't already ready thought of.

House two by far.

SwedishEdith · 24/07/2017 23:04

I don't understand why the rooms in no 2 look so much larger. And there's not many photos for a house with so many rooms. Only shows 2 of the 6 bedrooms. Intriguing.

flumpybear · 24/07/2017 23:06

I prefer much of house 1 - lounge looks small though - I'd be inclined to knock the kitchen into the other room anyway to create open living space

Dawnedlightly · 24/07/2017 23:08

6 bedrooms!

C0untDucku1a · 24/07/2017 23:09

House two

poweredbybread · 24/07/2017 23:10

Hey that's my house ! Not really but wonder if that has happened? House no 2 but there's not much in it . Both look like good options.

"I'd be inclined to knock the kitchen into the other room anyway to create open living space"
Really, would that be awful having kitchen smells , noise and totally impractical with children.

AndNowItIsSeven · 24/07/2017 23:12

Wouldn't

2017SoFarSoGood · 24/07/2017 23:15

At that price get them both - you'd be onto a sure thing for at least one good neighbour Grin

Wow. 300k. 6 bedrooms. What a deal.

(oh and #2 for me by a long shot)

Breezy1985 · 24/07/2017 23:22

Another vote for house 2 here.

ButterfliesandMoths · 24/07/2017 23:37

House number 2 😊

SirRodneyEffing · 24/07/2017 23:39

Wow! 6 beds for £300k? I could almost be tempted to move to kiddy myself for that price... What are the schools like?

NoBetterName · 24/07/2017 23:45

Was house 1 the show-home when the houses were new-builds? There is a panel of cupboards in the kitchen of a different style, but all look good quality (not like the cupboards have just worn out or something), but it's something they often do in showhomes to demonstrate the different styles/finishes of kitchens which are on offer.

Not keen on the yellow wall paper in house 2, but agree with others that the garden is nicer. Why have house 1 owners angled the dining table diagonally across the room? It makes it look like they couldn't fit it in straight.

SnickersWasAHorse · 24/07/2017 23:52

Like a pp I would be questioning why they were both selling at the same time.

BartiDdu · 24/07/2017 23:57

House 1 looks like it has a better quality kitchen, bathroom and flooring. Obviously none of that matters if you don't actually like the look of it, but someone spent some money on that house, whereas house 2 looks more like a cheap DIY-job.

Time40 · 24/07/2017 23:58

House 2 looks so much nicer, but I think that might be because of the better photographs.

tangledup123 · 25/07/2017 00:01

Probably house one (I'm ignoring how dark it looks in comparison to house two, as I expect that's just bad photography). The garden is more to my taste and I like the laminate flooring downstairs. I can't decide whether I like the grey carpet, but at least it wouldn't show the dirt as much as the cream carpet in house two. I'm a bit put off by the lack of photos of house two and I'd want to remove the wallpaper in the bedrooms (too bright for me). The lawn looks a bit scruffy and there doesn't look like room for a patio table.

Hoolit · 25/07/2017 00:15

I can't tell so well from the pictures but I'd check the parking and access to neighbours properties as parking issues cause nightmares!

Whichone12345 · 25/07/2017 18:46

Thanks all. Looks pretty resounding Grin I knew mumsnet would help me once again!
