Another bathroom layout help thread!

I have been procrastinating for the best part of a year trying to decide how to redo the bathroom and its starting to get desperate, old suite is nearing 20 years old and it looks it. I need help. Room is 2650 x 1860. Door is on internal wall and cant move.

Which of these layouts would you go for? Each have a 1800 x 80 bath (for a good soak/wider shower). Or can you suggest a better I haven't thought of? With an over bath shower/screen added (couldn't do this in the designer thing, or change colours).

1. Is similar to now, but bath and sink swapped to give a wall for a shower. Don't like because the sink appears too tucked away in a corner.

2. Hmm, trying anything but don't really like.

3. This is what I thought I would like before I put it in the design tool, the window would be properly sealed as near the shower. But now worried the built in bit will make the room feel smaller, and the toilet looks too close the door, not sure why I don't like that................

Oh god don't put a sensor for the lights in!! I always end up having to do some crazy wave when I'm on the loo at work, couldn't cope with it at home too

I so wanted your tiles - in the blue though!!! Bloody compromised with DH though!!! My tap makes it worth while though !!

Have you thought about changing the door to open outwards?

Ok, any ideas of using wetwall have been binned, everything looks like a caravan and I've realised our 20 years old ensuite shower has never leaked so tiles can't be that bad and coloured grout will cover most sins.

Love those patterned tiles but dh and ds have vetoed.

Good use of space with a separate shower, but we are ok with over bath shower as it will only be occasionally used and we need the floor space as it takes two of us to wrestle a 34kg Labrador into the bath.

namedchanged15 tried tiles all the same colour but it seems very plain that way. The tiling up the sides was an idea to neatly end the cabinets before the bath/shower screen. Does your built up section butt right up against your bath where the shower screen is or is there a gap?

We're having these because we have a dog half way down the bath - on the wall saves teaching round a shower screen

Yes, hand held shower head is on the list, fed up using a jug.

I've been looking for one that you can squeeze on/off so you don't get soaked - let me know if you find one - you know like or have hairdressers have?

All one colour of tile/walls/floors. Also with wood floor.

I would get that built out bit flush with the bath though, mines like that, I have shower curtain but could easy attack shower screen
Otherwise you'll just have a little bit that you'll have to get in and clean.

how old is your house?

Where is the soil pipe? Is it cast iron?

WC against the wall near the soil pipe is best place for it.

If you have a wide bath, will people enjoy leaning over it to open the window?

I am surprised you want a 6ft bath. Are you eight feet tall? Assuming you want your head sticking out of the water, and a bath with a slope to lean your back against, you need to feet to reach the far end, or you will slide down and drown

You don't need light sensors. Modern energy-saving LED lamps cost so little to run that the sensors would cost more than leaving the lights on 24 hours a day for five years.

You do need a powerful and quiet extractor fan. Do you have access to the loft for a ducted extractor?

We are having sensor light because they leave the light on over night and I can't sleep and I don't want to get out of bed to turn it off all the time -

House is 20 years old, new(ish) build, plastic soil pipes. Soil pipe is on wall where window is, at the corner to the right of the window. I am hoping the toilet can be moved?

We currently have a 1700 bath and it's not that long.....I haven't been in it for ages, but ds is 5ft 5in and bends his knees, so thought an extra 10cm would be good/not much bigger 🤔. Will try out in showroom first to make sure there is no drowning risk

We currently have a wall extractor, have loft access, will look into ducted extractors.

Looked at the p and l shaped baths, but wanted to tile the panel, so discounted and went for the wider bath.

Hadn't spotted that it was an extra-long bath. Agree that they're a PITA as you need to have one leg stretched to sort of brace yourself in the bath. And difficult to top up the water with your toes.

We are tall and love our 180cm bath. Yes, you can't sit back because you just slide down (unless there are two of you in the bath, then it works really well. What else is a double-ended bath for, after all?) but it's wonderful for a lying down wallow. Though TBH that's a rare treat.

Not rtwt but no 2, definitely. Bath under window allows walking room for sink and toilet and also it looks and feels more modern. Have lived in house with no1 layout and it didn't really work, felt poky, imagine the same for no3.

I love your blue feature with the basin and toilet, but would keep all the other walls the same, neutral colour. Two blue walls would make the room seem smaller.

Why have you chosen a curve-ended bath to go up to a wall? (Sorry if you've already said and I missed it.) Why not square ends butted right up against the wall?

We have nuance boards made by bushboard as our shower walls, they look a lot more upmarket than caravan walls and quite a big range of 'effects'.
