Hi I have a new bath and new taps. The holes had to be drilled out for the bath.

The trouble is the bath plastic is uneven in width were the taps have been drilled out. The taps can be tightened but they don't create a seal because of wonkiness.

Can anyone give me any advice please???? I can't afford another plumber.

Are there any tips or tricks

Crossing my fingers tightly

Sugru may be an easy fix to even up the thickness?

Apparently it's mouldable glue. White milliput could be a suitable solution - similar idea, waterproof and sandable. Milliput is an epoxy putty.

Essex Tap Washer system might do it. But you would have to take the taps off to fit them. There are various different packs for metal, ceramic and plastic sanitaryware.

If not sold locally you can order online. It's the same company as makes/sells the Essex Flange (this is not a joke)

I have some packs somewhere I can look at if you can't google them.

Or if you can't afford a plumber you are going to have to, at least, loosen the tap-fixing nuts to squeeze some rubber washers or (yuk) silicone under the tap bases.

the blue one

they are dearer on Amazon

direct from the company might be a different price

This is great thanks everyone.

I've had those taps off more times than I've had showers this week sorry to much infoGrin

Ive tried the extra washers....they ended up squishing out in one side (we're it's uneven).

I've even tried the siliconeBlushunderneath and around the edges on top before I screwed it down. Didn't work but there again I'm not the best siliconer and took blumin ages to get rid of the damn stuff.

Wow and Piglet ill google those, fingers crossed.

There's a failure on the silicone around the bath at the tap end. There's drips from the bath lip. I have gazillion checked it's not seeping over to the taps. Sadly the taps are leaking in there own lol. I need to get rid of the silicone at this end of the bath.

Is there a quick way of getting rid of silicone from around the bath??
