I want to update our washtand in bathroom, have seen one I like in Ikea.

How do I know it will fit in the place of old one ( different hight and with) also - it has drawers, how do the pipes fit in ?

www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/washstands-taps/wash-stands/hemnes-r%C3%A4ttviken-wash-stand-with-2-drawers-white-spr-39903102/

do i get a plumber person out first? or do I buy the new washtand then hope it can be fitted? what are usual charges for this sort of thing!

does ikea offer fitters for it?

Measure the available space and see whether it is big enough for the one you like. Providing there is enough space, a plumber will be able to fit the new one for you. The pipes are right at the back and the top drawer isn't as deep as the unit front to back which means the plumbing isn't in the way.

"How do I know it will fit in the place of old one "

you measure the space where you want to put it, and verify that the space is bigger than the thing.

If pipes run on the wall behind it, examine the thing or its technical drawings to see if there is a space, and if it is big enough. For example, most standard UK kitchen units are left with a 50mm gap behind the wall for pipes and other services. Ikea ones aren't.

If you want to put a basin or pipes than penetrate through the top, you may lose the use of the top drawer. hinged doors like a cupboard can be used, though.

too slow

Thanks for the replies, I have measured the space and it fits , so the important part to measure is the pipe work at the back? The product info says there is a special water catcher which means you have drawers?

The pipework may need altering or moving slightly for the particular unit, but that's something for your plumber. We have one of these in a bedroom and it's a clever design which looks good.
