Recouping cost of survey and searches

So my buyer has pulled out after I've paid for survey and searches. My vendors are not in a position to wait for me to get a new buyer so have put theirs back on the market. Has anyone any experience of selling their searches/survey to the new buyer? If I can't sell mine quickly, I'd like to be able to recoup some of the money I've spent. Thanks

Had you exchanged on your property? If not then unfortunately I don't think there is any way of recouping the costs. It's a very frustrating and expensive flaw in the current housing market.

No, we'd not exchanged. The whole system of buying/selling could do with an overhaul! Thanks

You could let the estate agent know and they could pass the option on to any potential buyers I guess.

Bowiesjumper, that's what I was thinking....has anyone done this?

Sorry you are in this position, it can be a very stressful and emotional journey!
Our first buyers (who pulled out after a redundancy) sold their searches to our new buyer. It was all done through the lawyers and estate agent so I would approach them in your position and offer them for sale. I believe that there is a time frame of around 3 months before they become redundant and need to be done again.

Lalear, thanks, that's great to hear! I'll call them tomorrow. It's been hugely stressful, not least because I've had to keep positive while my sons have been doing A levels/GCSEs to avoid passing the stress onto them! Thanks for the advice.
