We have a few patches of damp that need cleaning (have resolved cause of damp) what's the best thing to use? Do I need to use anything before I paint over it again?

Use a mould and mildew remover - HG and Dettol do them. Once dry, use a stain stop paint or stain blocking primer. Then paint over as normal. It might take several weeks to dry out, depending on when the cause of the damp was fixed - I'm guessing it was a roof or guttering issue.

It was a mixture of roof and no extractor in the bathroom, both sorted last winter so all dried out. Just waiting for dd to start full time school so I have more than 2 hours to get stuck into it.
