Natwest mortgage application

Hi, I'm a first time buyer in the process of (hopefully!) buying a property and I'm currently driving myself to distraction with worrying and second guessing regarding the mortgage application! Just trying to find out a bit more to help put my mind at ease (or give me more to worry about!) I have a decision in principle (through a broker) and I know that we have therefore passed the affordability and hard credit search run by the broker. Our application and all documents are now with the Natwest underwriter. I have couple of questions I'd be very grateful for help with. If you have applied with Natwest recently, roughly how long did it take from application to mortgage offer? I bank with them, if that makes a difference. Do the underwriters run another hard credit check? Is there any way of knowing how likely it is that the decision in principle will translate into an offer? Eg is the decision in principle only a 50:50 chance of a mortgage offer, or is it more likely than that?

Our offer came through after 2 weeks, there was quite a bit of back and forth over some paperwork and also a survey on the new property,

We have just had our mortgage approved with NatWest via a broker. All done and dusted within 5 working days and no other paperwork needed.
A stressful 5 days but 5 days all the same.

Took ours this time last year about 3 weeks. :)

We have an agreement in principle and submitted our full mortgage application yesterday morning. The valuation fee was taken out of my account yesterday lunchtime and we received an email yesterday evening to say our valuation has been booked for next Thursday, so all seems to be progressing fairly quickly!

I'm keeping my fingers and toes firmly crossed, such a worrying and stressful time!!

Keep me updated on how your application progresses.

Once our application was with the underwriters it only took 3 working days to come back, so really quick. Those were a nerve wracking 3 days though, nonetheless! Good luck Smile

Ours has been with the underwriters for almost two weeks now (NatWest). It's driving me mad not knowing anything! The survey went by without a hitch so hoping to hear any day now....

Ours took just under 3 weeks, last/this month through a broker, who updated us to say natwest were running slightly behind with their paperwork.

Have you had any news yet worriednewmum? Our property valuation was carried out today and we have had an email to say NatWest will contact us within 2 working days to let us know the outcome!

So nervous!!
