What colour are your living room walls?

I have decorators due to start in mine lately and I have only just begun thinking about it!

It's currently painted in Crown Etiquette which is a blue shade. Floors are dark wood and we have white shutters. The room can get dark mid afternoon.

DH wants grey. We have a pale grey upstairs and its too cold. Is there such a thing as a warm grey?

I like jewel tones but would not be brave enough!

White

PBW through all the downstairs - has giving it a very crisp look. Low ceilings and N facing sitting room and it looks very sleek in PBW.

I wasn't really going for a warm look tho.

Timeless in the bedrooms for a softer look.

We have French grey which is a pearly shade. It's a very warm shade.

We have huge windows though so there's lots of light.

Synecdoche · 13/07/2017 15:21

I have a mustard yellow feature wall Grin

What about a clay colour if you're after something light and warm? Try dulux 'cracked clay'

VickieCherry · 13/07/2017 15:23

Bluebell blue - A Single Note by Valspar. All the woodwork, ceiling and curtains are PBW. Floors are currently ancient cream carpet, but will be changed to mid-tone oak soon. It's so lovely having colour after years of rental magnolia! The room does feel a bit darker on dull days, but it's absolutely fine with lights on and I think it's very pretty.

We have dark wood floors too. At the moment, it's painted a mix of Elephants Breath and Skimming Stone (both 'warm' greys) but I'm so bloody sick of grey now. It doesn't feel that warm either. I'm about to paint it in Slipper Satin. A lovely warm white.

(I have a jewel green velvet sofa - you could go jewel colours with furnishings instead of walls?!)

grasspigeons · 13/07/2017 15:52

My friend has ammonite by farrow and ball. It's a pretty grey. It doesn't look like it does on their website . I wouldn't say it's that warm but it's nice

suzyrut · 13/07/2017 16:30

Dulux Supermatt white, it's pure white but not brilliant. I have charcoal stained floorboards and pure brilliant white woodwork. Doesn't look cold in my north facing living room.

I used to have dusted moss 2 in my last living room, that's a nice warm grey that changes throughout the day and quite subtle, would recommend that as an alternative.

Ollivander84 · 13/07/2017 16:37

They were white cotton, now polished pebble!

kingjofferyworksintescos · 13/07/2017 16:38

White , makes it very spacious and clean looking . ( it is very spacious and clean the walls just emphasise this !)

Brown76 · 13/07/2017 16:49

I have Khaki Mist 5 (there are several depths of the shade) by Dulux and everyone loves it, grey/warm beige with dark wood floor and white woodwork and ceiling.

n0ne · 13/07/2017 17:14

White but only cos we haven't got round to changing it (newish house). Our last house we had a kind of taupe/mushroom/clay colour which somehow managed to be neither too cool nor too warm, and went with everything.

PickAChew · 13/07/2017 17:16

Laura Ashley chamomile, with a touch of grubby hand print. We only redid them last month.

TerfwithaNerf · 13/07/2017 17:20

Valspar Midtown Magic as shown in the photo (not my living room).

I have wooden floors, lots of dark wood furniture, lots of vintage art, lots of plants. It's very me.

What colour are your living room walls?
PitilessYank · 13/07/2017 18:20

White, because I have a ton of modern art and love a sort of "art gallery" look.

ggirl · 13/07/2017 18:24

What is PBW ?

I must be out of touch as it seems everyone already knows ?

Foxsox · 13/07/2017 18:25

We have Laura Ashley Hedgerow (it's green)
We tested 17 shades of green before finally deciding on it.

SunshineOutdoors · 13/07/2017 18:26

Dulux light and space 'morning light'. It's like white but a lot warmer and maximises the light in the room.

chowmeinchick · 13/07/2017 18:32

We have a yellow and grey/silver wallpaper on 1 wall. Then 2 yellow painted and one very light grey.

Mothervulva · 13/07/2017 18:35

That's nice 'Terf*. I have Proud Peacock, a teal from Dulux. Tbh I wish I'd gone darker.

Autumnchill · 13/07/2017 18:37

2 different shades of Grasshopper Green to separate dining and living area

Jojoanna · 13/07/2017 18:38

Pure brilliant white (pbw)

ggirl · 13/07/2017 18:40

Thanks

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 13/07/2017 18:43

There are warm greys.

Little Green's Rubine Ashes is quite light, A Dash of Soot is a bit deeper.

Mine is a bright emerald green, it's brilliant, not for the faint of heart though.

Ridingthegravytrain · 13/07/2017 18:55

Farrow and ball slipper satin. It's really nice and bright yet warm

Thecatsmother17 · 13/07/2017 19:38

I have a tester of proud peacock but worried it might be too dark.

I don't want anything too white, or too pale a grey because the rest of our stuff is pretty bland. We used to have a beigey colour and it made the room look so boring.
I really like the blue we currently have but we have had it for 4 years and think we need a change.
I hope to get a navy or teal sofa at some point but it won't be soon so whatever I do has to look ok with the sandy coloured sofa I currently have.
