hi, been thinking about getting a keysafe for a while - where you keep a spare (front) door key inside a metal box, with a keycode, for outside our house. I know they seem mostly to be used for elderly people, so visitors/carers can let themselves in. Anyone got any experience -are they really safe i.e. can't get the key out unless you use the correct keycode? and must be much safer than leaving a key under a plant pot which we never do

It's also heavy . I can hear ds2 let the door of the keysafe drop when I'm upstairs

Going to tell dh to order it. There's been a lot of break ins round here recently.

My parents have one. They've got theirs on the side of the house so it's not visible from the door.

We have one. An old lady lived here before us, so it's leftover from then.
It's handy because we don't need to leave a key with anyone if we're away or if DC need to let themselves in.

Excellent choice with the Supra keysafe as long as you install it to the manufacturers instructions it has the same security rating as a UPVC front door. Also if you order direct from the manufacturer here keysafe.co.uk/products/key-safes/c500-keysafe.html?ppc_keyword=&gclid=CjwKEAjwqIfLBRCk6vH_rJq7yD0SJACG18frv6TmiArBvrPbl5m44v49jglPFIiwioSfk7FK-UFf1RoCCuHw_wcB

You will save yourself a tenner. Side note when you install it you only get one shot at putting the fixings in so make sure all your holes are drilled deep enough.

We have the master lock one too but it is fairly hidden in the garage which also has a combination electric door lock on it. I got it when we got a new front door which if you shut it needs a key to get back in.

Hi, my daughter has recently started high school and rather than her having keys a friend suggest a C500 key safe as it is police accredited and its been a god send - my daughter feels independant and I know we wont have the costs of getting out a lock smith!
