What colour for a period house (victorian ) living room?

Room about 4.5 *5. Large bay window so very light. Oak floor. Has picture rail and coving. We want to do something other than light grey, white or a shade of magnolia. DH is very keen that it looks traditional. We have no furniture or curtains to match. Any suggestions? Decorator wants to know tomorrow, so mumsnet please help!

Turns out my builder was exaggerating and don't need to decide until Monday, so we are checking out the local dulux decorators centre today to get a better idea of colours.

Just looked the colour up it's Crown Mellow Sage.

Our living room is painted with Dulux heritage green verditer on the fireplace wall and a light grey on the other walls. White skirting and coving.

Shamelessly place marking for pictures. That midnight teal looks gorgeous.

This will soon be my new living room so looking for similar ideas
