Boiler cover

Do many of you have this? Is it worth it? Can anyone recommend a company to me? Can you take it out on a boiler that's already about 3 years old? I had so many issues with my old boiler when I was renting, that I want to make sure I have a back up plan for this one now that it's only me responsible for it.

I am about to use mine so will let you know whether it worth or not in couple days time Smile

3yrs is good for a boiler depending on the brand it can be still under guarantee providing you did annual service.

Before taking extra cover double check if your bloiler is not already covered somewhere else i.e. home insurance, BG plan etc. Would be silly to pay twice for the same.

Hi we have had boiler cover with a few providers, have found British gas the best, response times are usually same day & have sorted any problems quickly.

Best thing I've ever had - especially if you get one with no call out charge. Our boiler is getting on a bit and normally goes a bit funny once a yearish - once we even had someone out on Xmas day !
Have used homeserve who were fantastic

I can recommend a company not to use. They've been awful. Paid monthly, then when we had a fault they said it wasn't covered.

24/7 Home Rescue, lots of bad reviews of them.

Thanks very much! I'll get looking then. Mine is a Vokera. Which I'm pretty sure is cheapest of the cheap. What are you all paying per month?

We pay £13 per month with british gas. Just for the boiler. Includes an annual service. They always have been out in under 24 hours. Includes parts and labour. You can add on raditators and their pipe. You can also add on plumbing and drains and electrical cover.

They do a cheaper version. You pay less a month but pay £50 per repair.

Funnily enough OP my Vokera boiler decided to have a wobble today. Fortunately I have cover with British Gas and an engineer will be here tomorrow morning.

It's definitely worth it Smile

It was worth it when our pump broke. The man canenout and fitted a new one the next day. We asked if we didn't have cover hoe much it would cost. The part was £200 + VAT and his labour was £97 an hour (it was a Sunday). As it was an old pump that took some hammering to get off it took about 2 hours.
