Brown waste pipe in the kitchen question

I am in the process of knocking down walls and moving cupboards, i have a boxed in brown waste pipe running from the bathroom down the edge of my kitchen, this little boxed in outcrop is where I want to move a cupboard to. my fear is that I will drill into the pipe!!
how big are these things generally and is there any notion of how deep it will be?
if I get a stud finder will I be able to hang it straight on them?
any advice is appreciated as this is mostly DIY and I like to get as much on paper before I start anything.

Can you post a photo? Do you mean a soul pipe or something else?

I'm guessing it's a 110mm soil pipe in some boxing.
You can't hang a whole cupboard on the boxing, it's only one layer of plasterboard or mdf and isn't strong enough. Work out what is boxing and what is solid wall, then design round it.
You can always doctor a cabinet and have it a funny shape on the inside where the boxing is, but a normal full width door.
(Have a go with the Magnet kitchen planner)

I will get a photo later today, it is a large box of about 700mm width. it looks like there was once something hanging there as if I peer in the gap I can see screw holes in situ.
