Do I need to notify sellers myself?

Until recently I was intending to purchase a property through Purplebricks until we noticed an issue with escalating ground rent from £150 to £4800 in 50 years (documented extensively on this forum), I've now decided to cut my losses on that property as the solicitors don't seem to be able to do anything about all this, so I refuse to purchase the property and I've Found somewhere new.

I'm going to ring my solicitor tomorrow to inform them of the change in plan, but I'm just wondering if I can have them inform the sellers through their solicitors that all of this is going down and why because I am not particularly excited by the idea of having to contact the sellers directly myself (through Purplebricks messaging service) and inform them that the intended sale is off, particularly since they wanted to rush into completion.

Is it reasonable to ask the solicitor to do this for me? Or does anyone have any experience of purplebricks and know if I can get them to do this for me?

I would ring PB and advise you are pulling out then ring your solicitor and have them let the vendor's solicitor know and why.
