Kitchen fitter's chipped worktop, what to do?

New kitchen in, fitter due back tomorrow for final snagging. Quite a few bits not perfect but have accepted that's just how it goes. But have just noticed that he's taken a chip out of the rolled edge of the laminate worktop, and tried to cover it up with a bit of colorfill. Really annoyed that he's obviously hoped that would do the job long enough for us not to notice. Replacing it won't be particularly expensive but will involve removing sink and hob, so quite a few hours work. What should I do/ask him to do? Am gutted, old kitchen was shit and I really wanted to enjoy the new one for just a little while before it got damaged 🙁

Totally get him to fix it

MadeForThis · 27/06/2017 22:12

Fix it. Especially as he tried to hide it.

Tell him, he should put it right.

You just tell him that he needs to purchase a new length of worktop and fit it. He caused the damage so he needs to put it right. I wouldn't accept a damaged worktop.

It will bug you forever more if he doesn't replace it!!
